Project: Prime Mover

Prime Mover is the brainchild of Tom Vos and Shawn Donoho, who began working together in 1989. The duo cut tracks for 6 years, playing clubs in their native Chicago and around the Midwest supporting their art. Their career as Prime Mover included a self produced compilation CD (Thanatopsis) in 1992, several cassette-only demos, and Demodulate in 1993. Now Demodulate is back, bringing to a climax the sound of a band dedicated to industrial dance. It's annihilating rhythms and gothic overtones mesh with abrasive vocals to create a hard driving, unique sound that any true techno head will appreciate.

"Demodulate seethes, rings, roars, and singes with the darkest sentiments and the harshest sounds. Prime Mover have mutated themselves into a first rate industrial outfit with a sound so developed it invites comparison with industrial veterans...An EP so well produced, focused, and competent it's hard to believe it's an independently produced effort."
- Industrial Nation

"They play industrial with a purity that keeps the techno, metal, and gothic influences at a comfortable distance; close enough to enjoy the flavor...Production as slick as any major label 'industrial' band."
