History

Locuna is the online presence of a collective of musical artists based in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Focusing mainly on electronic and darkwave, Locuna offers truly original works for purchase on CD or in downloadable mp3 format.

Josh Rowan and I formed Locuna on a Halloween night in the late 1990s somewhere, probably 1998. After Juan Martinez's "My apartment building is being torn down tomorrow" Party we were spinning in the streets, wishing we had dressed warmer and mulling over song titles. Both of us were working on our first CD; mine under the moniker Subsurface, his under torch. The word "lacuna" was thrown around a bit, along with it's meaning: a blank space or missing part; gap.

Later we decided to change the spelling so I could interject the MIDI plug into the logo. Locuna was birthed.

Locuna now exists as a launch pad for our projects, and those of our friends. Nothing too big, just a CD release or two. Maybe some videos. Experimental DVDs. Something.
